NBA DRAFT PROSPECTS: BIG EAST JUNIORS
by DOUG FERGUSON
Transition year. This is what I call the junior season of an NBA prospect. It is year that makes or breaks a player. Either they step their game to another level or they start thinking about a life abroad. Below I bring you the best of the 2010 bunch from the Big East conference…
10) D.J. Kennedy/G-F/St. John’s/6-6/215
2009 Stats: 13.0 ppg 6.6 rpg 3.0 apg, 1.5 spg
Overall Rank: 215
Has the type of verstility that is attractive to NBA teams. Needs to use his length to become a more solid all-around defender and use footwork as opposed to gambling so often.

10) Andy Rautins/SG/Syracuse/6-5/195
2009 Stats- 10.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.4 spg, 102 3 pointers
Overall Ranking- 174
NBA Comparison- Poor Man’s Jason Kapono
Every year the NBA seems to swing a lights out shooter who didn’t put up monster stats in college. This combined with the fact that Rautins will be asked to do a lot more offensively this year might make Rautins this player.
