2009-2010 NBA Preview
PRESEASON NBA ALL-BIG EAST (EASTERN CONFERENCE)
by DOUG FERGUSON
Back in the early days of the NBA teams drafted regionally for the most part. Teams didn’t have the budgets in their scouting departments for the needed travel to evaluate the players across the country in depth. There were obivious exceptions to this rule (Bill Russell namely) but for the most part players from the Big East stayed in the east.
Nowadays the NBA is a multi-billion dollar business and sending a scout to China 20 times a year would be the equivilent to you or I going to the market to buy a gallon of milk. Henceforth, players from the Big East are dispersed evenly throughout the league. This lets me get more mileage out of my NBA All-Big East teams for both conferences. So here you go…..and as usual they will be proven correct at the end of the year.

The western conference is not overwhelmingly dominant over its eastern counterparts as in years past, but it can still be considered the better half of the NBA. I believe, as most do, that the Lakers have the most talented team. There are many up-and-comers who will have a say so in what happens on the left coast, while several teams who were thought to be the future of the conference seem to continue to take steps backwards. Regardless, the days of four or five 50 win teams out west are a thing of the past. This is good news for many of the teams with the gripe of having a solid season and not making the playoffs while sub .500 teams continue there seasons into the late spring.

Hi everyone and welcome to NBE’s take on the NBA!!! We introduce our site to you at an exciting time for NBA fans as the season is just over 2 weeks away. I hope to prove I know what I’m talking about (at least a little bit) by making my preseason picks.. If anyone is planning on making a friendly wager of lunch with a co-worker or something to that extent, this is the right place to look. I must admit that I messed up slightly last year in picking the Cavs, but I did the trifecta on MVP as well as Rookie and Coach of the year. Anyways, here are the goods. Choose against them at your own peril, just don’t say I didn’t tell you so.
